Wonyeol Lee is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at POSTECH, where he leads the Foundations of Programming & Computing Lab. Before joining POSTECH, he was a Postdoctoral Associate at Carnegie Mellon University, working with Feras Saad. He received a PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University, advised by Alex Aiken. During his PhD, he also spent time at KAIST for military service, working with Hongseok Yang. He holds a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from POSTECH.
His research spans Programming Languages, Machine Learning, and Continuous Computations. He aims to make foundational software more reliable and scalable. To this end, he (i) focuses on fundamental programs and computations across diverse areas (e.g., machine learning, scientific computing); and (ii) proves their correctness, improves their efficiency, and understands their fundamental limits.
